  • Napomena | Business process model families (BPMF) provide collective representation of business processes that can be defined for a target domain of interest. They enable rapid development of appropriate business processes by quick BPMF configuration based on the stakeholders’ needs and preferences. In this paper we propose a novel framework for user-centric quality-driven configuration of business process model families capturing different kinds of non-functional preferences and solving the optimal BPMFs configuration problem. Focusing on the following key elements: Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), and its extension known as CS-AHP, Fuzzy logic and Genetic Algorithms; the framework maximizes the degree of satisfaction of defined non-functional preferences while simultaneously preserving the behavioural correctness of each derived business process. Furthermore, we provide extensive analyses of the proposed framework from three different perspectives: accuracy assessment, analysis of the impact of different variability and uncertainty elements, and comparison with respect to the published literature. Empirical analyses in this paper indicated that the proposed approach outperforms competitors.

  • Napomena | In this paper, we address the problem of peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction in orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. We formulate the problem as an error vector magnitude (EVM) optimization task with constraints on PAPR and free carrier power overhead (FCPO). This problem, which is known to be NP hard, is shown to be approximated by a second-order cone programming (SOCP) problem using a sequential convex programming approach, making it much easier to handle. This approach can be extended to the more general problem when PAPR, EVM, and FCPO are constrained simultaneously. Our performance results show the effectiveness of the proposed approach, which allows good performance with lower computational complexity and infeasibility rate than state-of-the-art PAPR-reduction convex approaches. Moreover, in the case when all the three system parameters are constrained simultaneously, the proposed approach outperforms the convex approaches in terms of infeasibility rate, PAPR, and bit error rate (BER) performances.

  • Napomena | The paper presents developing a web-based intelligent tutoring system named LEWITS. LEWITS (Learner Ontology Web-Based Intelligent Tutoring System) is aimed to use an ontology based student model and adaptation scenario of learning materials tailoring to individual student characteristics conceptualized in LeMONT ontology. The proposed learner modeling system relies on learner ontology, using Semantic Web technologies, based on the IMS LIP specifications and extended with new Psychological preferences concept. The LEWITS system architecture with its components Learner Profile Editor and Learner Modeler, suited for implicit and explicit ontology-based user modeling, is presented. It is also shown that LEWITS is modeling student data using certainty factor theory and fuzzy logic. Implementation issues are also discussed and explained in detail.

  • Napomena | The paper presents an ontology-based learner modeling system for personalized Web-based education, named LeMONT. The proposed learner modeling system relies on learner ontology, using Semantic Web technologies, based on the IMS LIP specifications and extended with new Psychological preferences concept. In order to create comprehensive learner ontology and to include the majority of the relevant concepts that will represent either the explicit or implicit part of the learner model, the research is conducted on concepts that learner model ontology consist of. The primary objective was modeling learner's cognitive and affective characteristics. The LeMONT system architecture with its components Learner Profile Editor and Learner Modeler, suited for implicit and explicit ontology-based user modeling, is presented. Implementation issues are also discussed and explained in detail.
